Suicide

A fire department is three times more likely to experience a suicide in any given year than a line-of-duty death"

Dramatic mood changes, withdrawal from friends, family, or society, engaging in risky or reckless behaviors, uncontrollable anger, loss of hope with no expectation of good or success, feeling trapped with no way out, the feeling of purposelessness, no reason to carry on…  These feelings, thoughts and other behaviors are risk factors and indicators that someone is having the emotional struggle with suicide.  Help is available, just because you cannot see “light at the end of the tunnel” doesn’t mean that it is not there.  You are not weak and you are not a coward.  You just need to make a phone call…

And they take insurance.
