Peer Support

I started my career as an EMT in my home state of Colorado in 2015, then three years later, I landed here in beautiful Washington to continue on the EMS path as a paramedic with KCM1. My boyfriend and I currently live in West Seattle with our sweet dog, Ellie, and we love exploring the mountains and ocean with her on our days off. Although I'm new to the peer support team, I'm humbled and excited to be a part of such a valuable program, so please reach out anytime. |
I was hired by King County Medic One in 2016 as a paramedic intern and began working on the medic units as a paramedic in South King County in 2017. Prior to beginning my career as a paramedic, I lived in SE Alaska where I worked as a backcountry park ranger and volunteer firefighter, EMT, and SAR tech.
I live in Skagit County with my husband, Brien, and our extremely handsome dog, Luke. In my free time I like to trail run, kayak, travel, and grow vegetables in my garden. I am honored to be a member of the peer support team. I hope that through providing support to each other we are able to build long and healthy careers. I'm available to talk anytime. |
My name is Mike. I am married and I have three daughters. I have been with Medic One since 2005. Outside of Medic One, I enjoy everything around health and wellness. I am a RYT200 and have a daily yoga practice along with a daily meditation practice. Not to get better at yoga or meditation, but to get better at life. |
I was hired in 2007 with King County Medic One as a paramedic. I’m married to an ER nurse and have 3 great kids that occupy most of my days when I’m not at work. I enjoy any and everything related to being outside on my days off: watching/coaching my kid’s sports, and quality time at home. I’m thankful to be a new member on my department’s PEER team and look forward to assisting/supporting my brothers/sisters out in any way I can. |
My name is Donovan Marley. I am a paramedic with King County Medic One and have been with King County since Sept of 2011. My wife and I are originally from the Puget Sound area and this is where we have decided to grow our family. At this point (Feb 2020) we have a 2.5-year-old little girl, Cecilia. As well as a 4.5-year-old little man, Declan.
I'm here to listen, not to judge or criticize. This bonds us in a way few others can understand. So please reach out and talk to someone if you're struggling. Vulnerability and self-awareness are not weakness, but the very strength we need to be the best versions of ourselves. |
My name is Jim Stevens, I’m a Senior Paramedic, having begun my career at Medic One in 1998. Prior to that, I was a professional Firefighter in Zone One, King County. Married for 22 years and have four sons and one daughter. I’m the oldest of 4 children, my parents live in Fall City near me. All my siblings live in the Snoqualmie Valley. My own family includes a wife of 22 years, 4 sons, and a daughter.
I haven’t seen it all, but I’ve seen enough to possess a realistic perspective as to the challenges faced in our work. I also have some firsthand experience in the everyday struggles we are all subject to: family, finances, divorce, challenging supervisors, difficult work partners etc. I can be reached at 425-466-4174, you know what I do for a living, leave a message or text so that I can see who called, and get back to you after I’m done with whatever has kept me from answering! Stay safe out there & take care of each other. |
I was hired in 2018 by Medic One. Prior to that, I was a previously trained paramedic in Lewis county and a volunteer firefighter for Lacey Fire Department. I've lived in Washington my whole life and originally started out in the south Seattle area before moving south.
I currently live in Thurston County with my husband Matt and my three crazy kiddos Tristan, Everlea, and Harper who has autism. Most of my off-duty time surrounds my kids and their adventures, but in the off chance I get some free-time I enjoy bike riding, CrossFit, and yoga. I lost a dear friend in the service to suicide in 2017 and ever since then both my husband and I have been very active in supporting mental health for first responders. I am truly grateful to be a part of this amazing team and am always available to talk at any time. Never hesitate to reach out. |
I grew up in Oregon and began my EMS career there in 2002. Since 2011, I have had the privilege of working at King County Medic One. I live in Ballard with my wife and daughter. We spend our days off trying to find the best coffee and baked goods in the Puget Sound and beyond.
I lost my father to cancer right before my 10th birthday and had to spend too much of my childhood learning about death and loss. I can't imagine that experience without the support of my school counselors, family, and friends. So, in a world that is filled with stress and a job that can push us to our limit, I'm excited to join the ranks as a PEER Support member. I hope I can provide an ear and a kind word to help colleagues in our shared quest for long and healthy careers. |
Hello, my name is Courtney. I started my career in EMS and Fire in 2010. I was a firefighter/paramedic in Snohomish County prior to lateralling to King County Medic One in 2018.
I have 2 children, aged 22. They are twin boys/men, named Elias and Gabriel. They graduated from university this past Spring, and just recently moved to California to start their careers. I live in Tacoma with my life partner, Mike. He is also in the industry and is a firefighter/paramedic. The extras that bring me JOY are traveling, hiking, gardening, yoga, working out, cooking, playing board games, and decorating (and then redecorating) my home. I am honored to be a part of the PEER team. I have nothing but respect for my brothers and sisters. I understand how challenging this career can be, on and off the job. I am readily available to offer support. |
